SHLAA Update Part B: Methodology for Rural Exceptions Housing
The event is not currently available for consultation.
The SHLAA Update for Rural Exceptions Housing is a technical study which identifies land which the Council considers is potentially suitable for purely affordable housing for local people with local connections. The Council has developed a methodology to assess the potential for sites submitted by agents, developers and which have been looked at elsewhere in the SHLAA to accommodate such housing. The methodology and subsequent site assessments are consistent with Government SHLAA guidance. The SHLAA does not allocate land but forms an important part of the evidence base for the forthcoming Planning Proposals DPD and Gypsy and Traveller Sites DPD. The Council has already consulted on the Market Housing part of the SHLAA and, in due course, will publish and consult on additional SHLAA updates focussing on provision of sites for Gypsy and Travellers.
