Development Management DPD: Proposed Submission Proposals Map

The event is not currently available for consultation.

With publication of the Proposed Submission DPD the plan preparation process moves from the consultation phase into the testing phase.  At this stage the Council believes that the DPD is ready to be submitted and therefore publishes it in order to gather comments on whether it is sound and legally compliant.  The comments are used by the Inspector in the examination of the DPD documents.  The comments are therefore collated, summarised and submitted with the DPD documents.  The Council can make changes before submitting the plan but is not obliged to.

Huntingdonshire District Council is required to maintain an adopted Proposals Map as part of the Local Development Framework.  The Proposals Map shows geographically the adopted policies and proposals of the adopted DPDs and is therefore revised each time a new DPD is adopted.

The policies contained in the Development Management DPD: Proposed Submission have two implications for the Proposals Map.  First the policies introduce new, and updated existing, designations and secondly the policies supersede some existing saved Local Plan policies that have associated designations.  The maps produced to accompanying the Development Management DPD: Proposed Submission fall into two sets:

  1. a set of maps from the existing Proposals Map that illustrate the current extent of saved policies; and
  2. a set of maps that illustrate the extent of new designations defined in this DPD, along with existing land use designations, for example Conservation Areas, where these have changed since the adoption of the Local Plan in 1995 and any designations associated with policies that are not superseded by policies in this DPD.  This second set shows the extent of designations that will be in effect once the DPD is adopted, subject to any changes.

The Proposals Map document includes both sets of maps but due to the size is divided into a series of different files:

Set 1 consists of:

Superseded Policies Proposals Map
Saved Policies Proposals Map Inset Plans Key
Saved Policies Proposals Map Inset Plans Towns
Saved Policies Proposals Map Inset Plans Southern Township
